It is famous for the island, connected to the mainland by a walkway. Once a fishing village, the island was converted in 1960 to the old town, with its tower, narrow streets, shops and small churches. The island is now a 5-star hotel owned by the Aman Group. The terracotta roofs of the individual hotel suites and the church make a unique backdrop to the Adriatic Sea, especially spectacular when you watch the sun setting.
The beach is great, you can hire a parasol and lounge chairs for the day for a few euros. The water of the Adriatic Sea is crystal clear, and with very little currents is safe for young kids.
There are some good restaurants and bars now popping up on your way down to the beach, as well as a very good restaurant right on the beach side.
A MUST is a walk along the coastal path towards Milocer. You come across the wisteria-clad Hotel Milocer, which used to be the summer residence of Yugoslavia’s President Tito, now another hotel owned by the Aman Group. Stop and have a coffee or a glass of wine on the terrace, whilst overlooking the small bay. Keep walking and you’ll find the Queen’s Beach, the prettiest, littlest beach we have ever seen! I’ve seen it written that it’s one of the beautiful small beaches in the world.
Keep walking again and you come to Przno. Our favourite restaurant in Montenegro! It’s called Le Blanc and, if you’re lucky, get a table overlooking the small inlet. We recommend the fillet steak with truffle oil and tagliatelle, and always the Montenegrin wine!
